How do I submit material to Weston Web?

The preferred method is by email to mail@westonweb.co.uk. Either include the submission in the main body of the email, or send as an attachment. Save attachments as plain ASCII or ANSI text files (extension .txt), or Rich Text Format (.rtf). Other formats cannot be accepted. Email us first if you need any help with this. Or, post your material in a format as discussed above, on floppy disc or cd-rom, to:

Weston Web,
Mushroom Publishing,
156 Southlands,
Weston,
Bath BA1 4EB.

Please include your name and address (or email address), and your phone number with all submissions.

Can I submit material by other methods?

Yes. Post your material to Weston Web at the address above, preferably clearly typed so that it can be scanned to minimize typing. Or, it can be faxed, but please phone first on 01225 484063. If your submission is short, or you are notifying an event, you may telephone. Full contact details.

Please include your name and address (or email address), and your phone number with all submissions.

Are there any restrictions on the type of material submitted?

Almost any material is welcomed; it is, after all, your website. However, we will not publish material which is considered by the editor to be obscene or offensive.

It should also be noted that submissions may be subject to editing (for example, to make the material fit the format, to remove references that may be libelous, or to remove offensive language from material that is otherwise of interest.) If you are not willing to allow editing of your material, please indicate this on your submission. If the material is publishable in the submitted form, it will be published. Otherwise, we will contact you to discuss the matter.

I have a good idea that may improve the site. What do I do?

Let us know. We want this site to be the best community site on the web, so we will certainly give due consideration to any good ideas. Contact mail@westonweb.co.uk.

I haven't got internet access. How can I view Weston Web?

How are you reading this? There is a computer with internet access at the Weston Branch Library. This is free to members of B&NES Libraries, or £2.50 for 30 minutes for non-members. If the site takes off and we get enough material and interest, we may consider producing a print version in the future.

Why does Weston Web look so boring and uninspiring?

I have tried to make Weston Web accessible to everyone, whatever their browser or system setup. Not everyone is using a Pentium processor and a version 4 or 5 browser, or accessing the internet with ISDN. However, I am open to suggestions as to how to make the site more appealing without compromising the ideals of universality, speed and ease of use.

How is the site paid for?

Currently, the site is supported exclusively by Mushroom Publishing, but this cannot continue for much longer. We are beginning to add some sponsor links to the web pages in the hope that these will generate income. We are also planning to accept small advertisements and sell web space. More details of advertising rates for shops and other businesses will be published in the near future. You can support the site by clicking on some of the sponsor and advertiser links that you may see dotted around the site.
